Summer...?

I almost forgot to mention...summer is creeping up on me again.

The best indicator of summer's presence is the yearly return of movie screenings at the Hollywood Forever cemetery. Some folk might find it kinda morbid to bring a picnic dinner, a bottle of wine or other libations and a blanket to a cemetery to watch old films. Of course I don't, and apparently there are a couple thousand other people who are freaks like me.

Tonight is the first screening of the year: The Maltese Falcon. Yes, these guys go for the classics! Next week they're showing The Birds. They were taking suggestions for other films to be shown during the season, so I emailed them. Amongst my suggestions were Chaplin and Keaton films, Blazing Saddles and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I forgot to suggest Rock n' Roll High School...shame on me.

Not my favorite Hitchcock film, but it ain't too shabby, either. Upcoming films they're showing: "Detour" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"...doesn't say which version of "Invasion..." that they're showing, though.
